CLIENT PROGRESS: MASTER BEDROOM REDESIGN

My OKL Vintage & Market Finds sale went great! 3 of my items were originally listed and 3 others were added over the weekend. 4 of the 6 have sold, so I consider my first run to be a smashing success! Thanks for all of your sweet support and blog/Facebook comments.

And now onto fun client stuff! I've been working with a fabulous new client (a dream!) who contacted me for help pulling her master bedroom and sitting room together. She emailed a snapshot of some fabrics she'd selected on her own but needed some help editing and coordinating... really, I secretly wondered why she was hiring me as  everything already looked great together.

But of course great design is not just about having fabulous textiles but knowing where, when & how to use them. I discovered that she wanted a scheme that could flow through the rest of the house and also needed drapery, bedding, accessories & seating for her sitting room.

By the time we met for our initial consultation she'd decided she wanted to scrap the fabrics she'd originally selected & start anew, so I used them as a starting point for color and brought in an eclectic mix of traditional & tribal prints with dash of polka dot.

I'm in love with these fabrics!!!

1. Euro pillows
2. Toss pillows
3. Stools + Bolster
4. Back of chairs
5. Front of chairs
6. Wallpaper

And of course there's more, but this is the part I really love the most. For me, fabric schemes always determine my direction for furniture, accessories & even window hardware, so I invest a lot of time to make sure that everything not only speaks to the client but also makes sense overall. One of our fabrics is still on backorder, but I couldn't be more excited to see this room come together...

Oooh, pretty! I always start with either fabrics, or the rug... and then the rug dictates the fabrics to an extent. I think the toss pillow fabric is my fave!
