I’m officially obsessed with Fifty Shades of Grey.
And if, by some odd chance, you don’t know what FSOG is all about, think Twilight times a million, minus the vampires, and add a major dose of ridiculously hot sex.

I spent the latter part of last week (& all weekend!) wrapped up in this trilogy and got very little work done because of it, so I’m running a bit behind this week…but it was so worth it!  If you haven’t read it (and plan to), make sure you block out a few days–it’s a page turner that’s hard to put down. And to those of you who’ve read it (and will ‘fess up), I want to hear your thoughts!

    Hi Dayka,
Just found your blog–love it. I’ve read the first two in the series and I enjoyed them. I thought some parts were disturbing but I liked the love story and I wanted to know what had happened to Christian that made him that way. How was the third one?

Yup, read all 3! It would be interesting to see how they’d do the movie without being too porn-like!

@Julie: The third one was good–answered a lot of the lingering questions about Christian and had some surprises, too.

@Charmaine: That’s the same thing I’ve been thinking–how is this supposed to work in theatres?? Will be interesting to see who gets cast in each of the roles, too.

Well, when my hubby and other men are telling their wives to go read this book I gotta suspect it’s pretty good yet racy? I’ve resisted but may just give in and give a read this Memorial Day weekend.

It’s like Twilight because it started as Twilight fanfiction. When an editor became interested, she just changed all of the names.

The first book was honestly the worst writing that I’ve ever read from a published book. She seriously could’ve used a better editor. The second and third books weren’t as bad because I really wanted to know how the story would end.

I’m interested to see how they’ll pull off this movie.

I’m on the second book right now I mostly read it at work. So I look forward to going to work! I don’t find the book overly porno. I mean they have a sexual appetite just like any young couple dating. The only thing that bother me is when he takes her and puts her over his legs to spank her. kinda disturbing and weird. Other than that the book is not horrible. I hope the movie delivers.

I loved it too, and I thought I couldn’t put Twilight down. I not only couldn’t put Fifty Shades down, I couldn’t sleep either.

ay–I found 9 people who weren’t afraid to admit that they read the book!! Bri is right–it’s what most young couples in a new relationship would be doing! Some of the stalking was mind-blowing, but I took it for what it was…entertaining fiction!
@kim & nicole: yes, pick it up!
@laeh: me too–that’s all I’ve been thinking of!
@laters baby: the fact that your profile name is laters baby is so great–i love it!!

I love your blog! And, I have no problem whatsoever admitting that I read all three books in 6 days. I totally neglected my family, friends, and calendar for this series! 😉

JCHG3: Wanted to email you back but your email isn’t attached to your profile. Thank you! I love when people are honest about how much they loved it…

I love that you felt “lost and empty” after you finished reading it!! I couldn’t describe how I felt after I finished the series, but that’s exactly it!! I’m going to sound SUPER LAME right now, but I would think about Ana & Christian for days after I first finished–like they were real people & I actually knew them!! I even started to read the series again, then decided that I needed to get a grip and start doing productive things like, oh….WORKING?? I can continue to have a place to live. 🙂

Just read the first 2 books this week. I am obsessed. I really can not stop thinking about the characters. I bought the last book already but I seriously need to take a day off from reading. My house needs some attention!
